Shri Guru Gita (Sanskrit: Śrī Guru Gītā) – a sacred song, a hymn glorifying the Guru (spiritual guide). In the Guru Gita, in the form of a song, Lord Shiva reveals the secrets of the highest knowledge to his wife and disciple Parvati. Shiva is the Guru of Yoga, who gave the teaching of yoga to humanity.

He is also called Adi Guru, Adi Nath (the lord and master of yoga). The Guru lineage of Nath yogis started from Shiva. A Guru is a spiritual teacher who has achieved oneness, He is the authority of the sacred teaching.
