The Law on Copyright and Related Rights of the Republic of Lithuania
Adopted on May 18, 1999, No. VIII-1185
Article 4, Paragraph 2, Item 2 states that objects of copyright include speeches, lectures, sermons, and other oral works. Article 6, Paragraph 1 of this Law states that the author is the natural person who created the work. Therefore, Mai Ram's lectures, speeches, and other oral works are objects of copyright protected by the Law on Copyright. Any use of the original work or its copies without the permission of the author, their successor in title, or their properly authorized person is considered illegal. Article 80, Paragraph 1 of this Law provides for compensation for non-material damage: A PERSON who has infringed the personal non-material rights of authors or performers specified in the articles of this Law must compensate for the non-material damage, the monetary amount of which is determined by the court. Also, Article 82 of the Law provides for administrative and criminal liability for copyright infringements. It is established by the Code of Administrative Offenses and the Criminal Code.
