Yoga retreat
Yoga retreat
In the Mai Ram Yoga school, one of the most important events is the retreat. This is a special event during which participants further deepen their knowledge and yoga practice.
The benefits of a yoga retreat are countless, but the most important of them is a person's spiritual growth.
A yoga retreat is a conscious withdrawal for the purpose of deeper self-knowledge. Retreat practices are focused on meditation, inner self-observation, silence, conscious nutrition, breathing practice, and asana practice. Mai Ram Yoga retreats can last for a day, several, or even a few weeks of practice, to develop mindfulness and discover inner harmony. The Ashram environment is designed so that a person can distance themselves from daily routine, immerse themselves in the process of self-knowledge, and deepen their connection with inner peace. It is a place where one can learn yoga philosophy, practice meditation, and experience the impact of yoga in daily life.
What is a yoga retreat?
A yoga retreat is a period of seclusion where a person steps away from daily activities, usual work, worries, and distractions in pursuit of self-discovery. During a retreat, one disconnects from technology and everyday routines to focus more deeply on their inner world. A yoga retreat provides an opportunity to reconnect with oneself, strengthen spiritual practice, and gain new insights that help one live more mindfully and harmoniously. It is a period aimed at deeper self-knowledge and restoring emotional balance through intensive yoga practices, meditation, self-observation, and silence.

Here and now
A yoga retreat helps you pause and realize the importance of the present moment. A person becomes more open to experiencing joy, simplicity, and the fullness of life. This fosters a natural gratitude for life, the body, opportunities, and the people around them.
Mai Ram Yoga retreat enriches spiritual knowledge, promotes conscious presence in the moment, and develops mindfulness through various yoga practices.
During the retreat, the yoga practitioner aims to focus on themselves, dedicating a significant amount of time to deep self-observation and reflection on the meaning and goals of their life. They strive to understand the obstacles of the spiritual path and learn how to remove them. Therefore, peace of mind and awareness are highly important during the retreat. Furthermore, in order to restore the connection with one's inner self and nature, it is important to observe both internal and external silence, as well as to limit the use of mobile phones and computers.
MRY retreats are held according to the unique philosophical system of the five natural elements created by Guru Mai Ram. In the morning and evening, rituals and meditation practices take place, and classical yoga scriptures are studied. During the day, karma yoga—selfless action—is practiced, asana and pranayama techniques are developed, yoga philosophy is studied, and body detoxification procedures are learned. The living conditions during the retreat are simple, and during a strict retreat, they are ascetic. The diet is light and vegetarian.
