How does the Mai Ram Yoga method differ from other teachings?

Mai Ram Yoga teacher training aims to provide teachers with the opportunity to integrate classical yoga tradition into their practice and teaching. This is a practice for the modern yogi, transmitted by Guru Mai Ram, based on the knowledge passed down from the Natha tradition.

One of the most wonderful aspects of the Mai Ram Yoga method is that it has a coherent, clear system. This provides both the teacher and the student with a solid foundation and a direction of development for a lifelong yoga practice. Asanas, pranayama, meditation, Sanskrit, anatomy, philosophy – all of this forms a unique whole of the Mai Ram Yoga practice.

Is Mai Ram Yoga a religious system?

No. However, you can expect a strong spiritual aspect – mantra meditation, philosophy, and devotional practices that have been passed down through our Guru.

Mai Ram Yoga teaches that yoga complements each person's personal beliefs and does not require changing your relationship with God or a Higher Power – whether you believe or not.

However, you may encounter new ideas about divinity, and we will encourage you to remain open to the experience, observing your feelings and beliefs.

By reading the recommended preparatory books, you will be able to better understand what to expect. We hope that before starting this journey – the path of becoming a teacher – students will familiarize themselves with these books as deeply as possible.

If you have any questions or doubts before the training, we invite you to contact us by email to discuss them.

If questions or challenges arise during the training, you can always talk to your mentor.

What if I cannot perform all the asanas (poses)?

The studies are open to everyone – from beginners to advanced practitioners, even those with more than 20 years of experience.

Participants of all body types are welcome to the training – everyone practices according to their own capabilities. Although intense asana practice is an important part of the Mai Ram Yoga method, these studies encompass much more than just physical practice – a large part of the studies consists of internalizing yoga philosophy and theoretical teaching. Regarding the asanas, you will be able to modify and practice them according to your body's abilities. Furthermore, many are surprised by how much the body and practice change during an intensive period of training.

Can I participate in yoga teacher training if I do not plan to become a teacher but want to deepen my knowledge?

Yes, you can. Yoga teacher training courses are open not only to those who plan to become teachers, but also to anyone wishing to deepen their knowledge, better understand yoga practice and philosophy, and expand their personal experience.
